Today I'd like to share something a little bit different than my usual parade of stunning Egyptian belly dancers. This is a film clip of a Lebanese folkloric dance troupe. I absolutely love the colorful costumes, and of course, as anyone who knows me is aware, I am always smitten by a gorgeous headdress :).
The information about the clip below is from The CaroVan's Vimeo channel. She is an endless source of education and inspiration about Egyptian cinema and Middle Eastern Dance.
I believe the first song they dance to is Lamma Bada, a very old classic song. I am not sure about the second song, does anyone else know?
I hope everyone enjoyed that. And if that inspired you to dance, you're in luck! Classes start back up this week and there is time to join. See my classes page or contact me.
And for those of you who made it this far down the page, here is a photo of me in one of my many, many attempts to live out my classic film fantasies by dancing in a headdress :)
Happy Dancing!
